Running Deep exhibition

17Dec11

I had an exhibition with Detour from 25 of Nov to 11 of Dec. The exhibition has finished. I have uploaded images of my exhibiting space- Running Deep.

The work:

a moment of change, 2011, inkjet prints

The environment influences and effects the reflection for us to see the reality clearly.Change doesn’t happen over night. It takes time and from time we see growth, progress and difference. Slowly the change occurs, subtly.

Each image shows a moment of change and a passage of time.

The work:

letting go, 2011, video installation ( still images from video)

During autumn, leaves fall one by one, the tree becomes nude, getting ready to start a new cycle. The work is my imagination of the process of decisions and letting go. The work plays with time, speed and still/moving images, layering different video footage together. Over the 1: 30 min video, one can only tell the different stages by the movement and speed of the water dropping. The piece is on a loop. It ends and starts the same way: a cycle itself.

The work:

the unknown, 2011, prints on tracing papers

* indicating that the removal of one subject can allow for the appearance of another ” by Vincent Katz on Robert Rauschenberg

By erasing ( clearing/ washing) the image with water, a white washed-off space is left behind. A new image is formed at the end. The act is not neglectful, but acknowledges the past and lets it go. By doing so then something else can enter. When things are washed away, a space is created to be filled, by what, we don’t yet know.

Written by me on the wall:

a huge thank you to everyone who came to see my exhibition, thank you for leaving all the comments, messages and showing your support in any ways. I feel loved and supported. xxx

The comments that people left behind are so inspiring, i am surprised and interested to see how one look at the work and create their own interpretation.

* Dear Zoe, thank you for your comment, can you please clarify your question?

* more comments will be posted soon
